Assistant Director - China East - Shanghai

The main purpose of the role is to lead a significant MNC Account across China. The role will form part of the in-country delivery of project, cost and health and safety management services for a leading Client account. This account forms part of a larger Global contract that Arcadis has with this Global Banking oraganisation. The role will be responsible for delivering and managing service excellence in programme management and project management solutions delivering positive outcomes for our clients, demonstrating leadership and coaching to other Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, and innovation of service and knowledge.

Job Description:
  • Accountable for Team performance, compliance and reporting across all allocated projects and programmes
  • Accountable for successful management of the contract, scope of service and finances associated with delivery of services to the Client
  • Responsible for developing a trusted advisor relationship with the Client and owning relationships with key clients and ensuring clear ownership of relationships with the wider clients / customers across the team
  • Provide leadership and direction in key meetings with the client, our staff and other stakeholders
  • Support the Client in the development and implementation of their property strategy
  • Interact with Client Business units and influence positive outcomes
  • Share knowledge, insight and best practice from previous experience in the Banking and CRE sectors.
  • Provide knowledge sharing, coaching and training to our project delivery teams, focusing on Workplace and Retail
  • Drive the selected project delivery Model with Arcadis staff and Client staff.
  • Support the use and development of programme delivery IT Solutions.
  • Support the successful negotiation of out of scope works and variations leading to an enhanced commercial outcome
  • Support the capture and analysis of data for benchmarking and capital planning purposes
  • Support our strategic pursuits with other Clients including assisting with proposals and attending presentations 

Job Requirements 

  • Recognised degree in Building Services, Project Management, Construction Management or relevant discipline
  • Holder of Chartered Membership professional status
  • Proven record of post-qualification work experiences in Retail and Workplace projects           
  • Worked from an international consultancy firm is preferable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written Mandarin and English.
  • Proficient in using MS Applications
