To manage wastewater residuals we assess potential impacts of process alternatives and ultimate disposal, and treat biosolids not only as a waste, but a resource—for reuse, through composting and land application, or for energy and heat recovery. To produce high-quality effluent for reclamation and reuse in water-scarce areas, we use advanced treatment processes that achieve high levels of nutrient and dissolved component removal to meet goals for groundwater recharge, irrigation, industrial process water and other uses.
